What do I conclude after watching Breaking Bad Season 2 (2009)?
So season 1 ended with Walter and Jesse in the middle of a junkyard and they were with Tuco and after Tuco beat the living crap out of one of his members for next to nothing. Walter and Jesse were dumbstruck by what they had seen.
Season 2 starts where season 1 ends and we find out that the guy that Tuco beat the living crap out is dead due to brain injuries. Walter and Jesse leave the junkyard and they try to get out of town but Tuco gets to them first and holds them hostage at Tuco’s uncle house and the middle of nowhere. When Tuco’s uncle (Hector “Tio” Salamanca) sees Walter put poison in Tuco’s food. Tuco’s become suspicious of Jesse and Walter’s behavior and takes Jesse outside the killer. However Walter comes outta nowhere and hits Tuco in the head and Jesse takes his gun and shoots him in the chest.
Meanwhile Walter’s family is looking for Walter. He’s been missing for a couple of days and this leaves Hank to try and find Jesse. There’s a kinda lead that he gets that makes some suspect that this Jesse Pinkman might be with Walter White. So he goes to find Jesse’s car and when he finds it, he finds Tuco. Tuco opens fire at Hank and Hank Kills Tuco and captures Hector. Walter escapes from the place by hitchhiking with a bunch of Mexicans and goes to a supermarket where he takes off his clothes and acts like he doesn’t know where he is or where he has been for the past couple days.
And after he’s picked up and taken to the hospital. Skyler (Walter’s wife) suspects that he is lying to her about having a second cell phone. Meanwhile Jesse’s parents kick Jesse out of his aunt’s house and this forces Jesse to try and find an apartment. He finds an apartment that is managed by a girl named Jane Margolis. Jesse and Walter heatedly make and sell more meth, but they don’t want to come across another Tuco. So they decide to distribute their own product so Jesse hires some of his friends to start selling the meth and things are going great until one of Jesse’s friends Skinny Pete gets robbed by a couple of meth heads (Spooge).
So do send a message, Jesse goes to the meth heads’ house to try and get his money back but he instead comes across a kid who is skinny as a bone and dirty from head to toe. So Jesse takes care of the kid until his parents get home. When parents get home, he then tries to get the money back but instead what happens is the meth heads knock him out and take his gun and when he wakes up, the man Spooge is trying to open up an ATM and the one gets frustrated with him because he keeps calling on names and she crushes his head with an ATM just to get a fix. Once she goes to sleep, Jesse picks up the kid sitting him outside, calls the police and says have a good rest of your life.
The next day, Badger, another one of Jesse’s friends get busted so Walter and Jesse hired a criminal defence lawyer named Saul Goodman, who took on cases to forward to drug dealers and drug users. Walter makes a deal with Saul to get a cut of a share of Saul can get badger off so Saul does it and he does get badger off. Then combo, the third friend of Jesse gets killed by another gang member because Combo was in their territory. After Combo’s death, Jesse feels very terrible about the death and once out of business. So he starts a relationship with Jane, his apartment manager and together they start doing heroin.
Saul sets Walter up with a distributor who’s been in the game for over 20 years and has never been caught. So Walter meets with the guy, gives him the drugs, takes some money and completely misses the birth of his daughter. This is all because Jesse was high on heroin. Jesse was holding the drugs and because he was so high on heroin, he couldn’t even function so it was mostly Jesse’s fault in a sense. Jesse wants his cut of the money and Walter says that if Jesse can clean himself up and be completely drug-free then he can have his portion of the money by then he won’t get it.
However Jane feels that he deserves his cut of the money so she blackmails Walter. To celebrate, Jane and Jesse decide to get high and Walter goes to a bar to have a drink. He there has a conversation with Jane’s father (Donald Margolis) which he doesn’t know at the time and after the drink, he goes to Jesse’s house to try and talk with him one last time but instead finds Jesse and Jane high as a kite and completely incapacitated. Jane then overdoses on heroin and chokes to death on our own vomit while Walter watches her die.
The next day, Jesse wakes up and finds Jane dead and he is completely devastated. Walter has an operation to remove some of the cancer from his lungs and after couple of weeks of his recovery, Skyler leaves him because of his lies. I gotta say this was one of the most intense dramas I have ever seen. Every episode completely had me on the edge of my seat and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire season. There are some twists in the end that are worth watching. For the most part, I thought that the season finale of season 2 was pretty good.
My Opinion: Breaking Bad Season 2 Review
OMG OMG OMG!!!! This series is INCREDIBLE!!! It’s legendary. I loved this series. Some of the best writing and character development I have ever seen. Walter and Jesse’s relationship is so good to watch. Walter White and Pinkman are awesome and Tuco was fucking crazy. One of my favorite scenes of Breaking Bad season 2 is when Jesse and Walter are in desert without battery. I am absolutely hooked on this show.
I love everything about it except for one thing: skyler, she is so annoying and because of that I rate it a 4.7/5. She does not know what’s going on, that’s the way you’d expect her to react huh ? season 2 is even better than season one. I have noticed that with every new season I watch, Skyler gets more annoying. Actually I felt bad for Jesse when his girlfriend died due to an overdose of drugs. It’s such a great series.
I can’t believe that each episode takes me that far into the characters and their lives. I’m talking to the laptop screen. I was happy to see Jesse happy there for a while and crushed to see him crushed. Having dealt with loved ones going into rehab – those scenes played so true to life. I have to say – this is one of the greatest TV series I have ever seen.
There aren’t enough words to describe how crazy good Breaking Bad is. It’s one of the very few shows that gets better as it goes along. While I envy you guys for being able to watch them for the first time, I can promise you that you’ll want to watch it again and again after you’re finished. No spoiler: Mike is a great character!
What I don’t like about the show is that Walter keeps running around complaining about the mess he got himself into, while his wife runs after him complaining. The drama is so over-the-top, it feels like a soap opera. But the action and suspense are like cream on the top. It’s just that underneath that is so much shit that I’m not tempted to dig my spoon in & taste.
Gotta call Saul! I have to admit, I hated him at first and thought he made the show worse. But now after having been caught up on all of the seasons, Saul is one of the best characters in the show in my opinion. (PS: No Offense, please)
I loved every moment of the season. It’s hard to pick a favorite. When you start to get into the next season, I’ll just say this, it’ll feel like a trilogy. Season 1 and 2, chapter 1. Season 3 and 4, chapter 2. Season 5, chapter 3. I can’t wait to hear what you guys think about Season 2.
Overall I really liked the series. I liked every episode of season 2 and I’m gonna give 4.7 out of 5 rating to the Breaking Bad season 2 review. So tell me guys, what were your favorite moments of season 2. Comment below and let me know your feedback. If you think season 2 is awesome, just hold on to see season 3, 4 and 5. I am coming up with another review of Breaking Bad season 3, 4 and 5. Stay tuned with us for more reviews.
