Naveen Babu Ghanta, well known by his stage name Nani is an Indian film actor, producer, host and assistant director who was born on 24 February 1984 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. He is basically known for his work in Telugu movies. He won the State Nandi Award for Best Actor for Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor – South for Bhale Bhale Magadivoy. He has appeared in numerous successful and hit movies and is thought to be one of the most popular and famous actors of Telugu cinema. Nani did his schooling from St. Alphonsa’s High School and then studied at Narayana Junior College, S.R Nagar before graduating from Wesley’s. He made his acting debut with Mohan Krishna Indraganti‘s 2008 comedy movie Ashta Chamma, an Indian adaptation of Oscar Wilde‘s play The Importance of Being Earnest. After Ashta Chamma‘s commercial success, Nani played the lead roles in three Telugu movies in the next two years: Ride (2009), Snehituda… (2009) and Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu (2010).

His first release in 2011, Ala Modalaindi, was a romantic comedy written and directed by Nandini Reddy. Nithya Menen was the female lead of the movie and it was her debut in Telugu. It was told that many of the scenes in the film were inspired by the life of Nani and Nandini Reddy. Nani’s performance in the film received positive reviews, with critics noting that he was “completely natural” and “living [his] role”. The movie was a Blockbuster at the Box office.
With Ninnu Kori, Nani has delivered seven consecutive successful movies at the box office in a span of 3 years, a rare feat by any actor. His next movie MCA (Middle Class Abbayi) is set to release on December 21, 2017, with 3 more exciting projects in his career.

Nani got engaged on 12 August 2012, to his girlfriend of five years, Anjana Yelavarthy. Speaking to Hyderabad Times, the actor said, “We exchanged rings in a simple ceremony in Visakhapatnam that was accompanied by both our families.” The couple got married on 27 October that year, in a private ceremony in the city.
