Punjabi Movies are always popular among the audiences. These movies got good reaction from public and best known for comedy genre. These movies are really good to watch with friends and families together. Some of the movies mentioned below was personally watched by me. 10. Anhe Ghore Da Daan (2011)
Anhe Ghore Da Daan (English: Alms for a Blind Horse) is a punjabi language movie directed by Gurvinder Singh and produced by National Film Development Corporation of India. It was released on October 11, 2011 starring Sameul John, Mal Singh, Kulvinder Kaur, Lakha Singh, Gurvinder Makhna. It is a highly acclaimed movie based on the Punjabi novel Anhe Ghore Da Daan published in 1976 by Gurdial Singh. It portrays the problems of rural working class, landlords as well as Punjabi farmers. It is one of the best Indian Punjabi Movies which won National Awards for Best Direction, Cinematography and Best Film at the 59th National Film Awards. The movie was shot in Bathinda city Punjab, India. The movie was shown at the 16th Busan international Film Festival, 55th BFI London Film Festival, 49th New York Film Festival and 68th Venice International Film Festival. The movie has also won Golden Peacock Award for Best Film at 43rd International Film Festival of India.
9. Khushiyaan (2011)
Khushiyaan is an Indian family movie directed by Tirlok Malik and produced by Darshan Garg, D.P. Goyal, Pradeep Bansal. It was released on October 14, 2011 starring Jasbir Jassi, Tisca Chopra, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Deep Dhillion, Tirlok Malik, Vipin Sharma, Rama Vij, Ankita Shorey. The movie is in the news for its impressive quote ” Every family has a journey….. What’s Yours?” . Raj a well known architect has been living a luxurious life with his family. Somewhere a haunted feeling tells him that he needs to go back to his village and make peace with his aging father whom he greatly admires. What journey he will go through…? Will he make peace….? It is a journey of a family……you may be surprised to find yourself there.
8. I Am Singh (2011)
I Am Singh is a Indian movie directed by Puneet Issar and produced by P.S. T.hind. It was released on December 2, 2011 starring Gulzar Inder Chahal, Rizwan Haider, Punnet Issar, Amy Rasimas, Brooke Johnston, Tulip Joshi, Mike Singh, Donny kapoor. I Am Singh reveals around the stories of Sikh immigrants in the US after the terrorist attack of 9/11. The movie highlights what happened to few such people and their fights against it, never losing the faith in the American judicial system.
7. Yaara o Dildaara (2011)
Yaara o Dildaara is a Indian Punjabi movie directed by Ksshitij Chaudhary and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Kishan Kumar. It was released on September 23, 2011 starring Harbhajan Mann, Tulip Joshi, Kabir Bedi, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Gulzar Inder Chahal, Jonita Doda, Neena Cheema, Sunita Dheer. The movie revolves around love and realaitonship. It is a complete family entertainer movie which is based on two business families of Ludhiana. A romantic story that will reinstall your faith in true love. It is one of the chief Indian Punjabi movies of 2011 which is full combination of emotions, comedy and love.
6. Ek Noor (2011)
Ek Noor is one of the best Indian Punjabi movies directed by Mukesh Gautam. It was released on February 4, 2011 starring Sudhanshu Pandey, Yami Gautam, Sudeepa Singh, Jaspinder Narula, Harshdeep kaur, Bharti Singh, Rajendra Gupta, Rana Ranbir. This movie is a heartfelt attempt to conduct across the audience the message on the noble cause of organ donation and also a deep sincere attempt to make the public aware of life after death. The movie revolves around a impaired orphaned girl Rabia. for further, the audiences has to wait and watch the movie. It is really a good movie to watch.
5. The Lion of Punjab (2011)
The Lion of Punjab is a Punjabi movie directed by Guddu Dhanoa and produced by Balvir Tanda and Shikha Tanda. It was released on 31 January 2011 starring Diljit Dosanjh, Jividha Ashta, Pooja Tandon, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Vindu Dara Singh, Deep Dhillion. Diljit Dosanjh making his debut as an actor by this movie. It is also the debut Punjabi movie of Bollywood director Guddu Dhanoa. The movie was a remake of Tamil movie Dhool. I like the soundtrack of the movie which include songs like “Lak Twenty Eight Kudi Da”, “karreena Saif Tattoo”.
4. Hero Hitler in Love (2011)
ਹੀਰੋ ਹਿਟਲਰ ਇਨ ਲਵ is a Punjabi romantic and action movie directed by Sukhwant Dhadda and produced by Babu Singh Maan (Maan Films). It was released on 18 November 2011 starring Babbu Mann, Mouni Roy, Bhagwant Maan, Happy, Surinder Rehal,Sukhwant Dhadda. The story, music and dialogues, screenplay is done by Babbu Mann. The movie tells about the life of a man called Hitler who lives in his village, Ishapura. Hitler falls in love with Sahiban. Sahiban lives in Pakistan and Hitler decides to bring her to his village. The movie also revolve around car racing and Hitler loves to race. It is one of the foremost Indian Punjabi Movies of 2011.
ਧਰਤੀ is a punjabi movie directed by Navaniat Singh and produced by Darshan Singh Grewal, J.S. Kataria, Jimmy Shergill. It was released on 22 April 2011 starring Jimmy Shergill, Surveen Chawla, Rannvijay Singh, Japji Khera, Binnu Dhillion, Rahul Dev, Prem Chopra. The movie is all about family drama with the backdrop of Punjab politics set in Punjab. The movie won six awards at PTC PUNJABI FILM AWARDS including Best Debut Male: Rannvijay Singh, Best Background Score: Anjan Viswas, Best Cinematography: Harmeet Singh, Dove Best Debut Female: Surveen Chawla, Critics Award for Best Director: Navneet Singh, Critics Award for Best Film. The movie was commercially successful at the box office.
2. Yaar Anmulle (2011)
Yaar Anmulle is a Indian Punjabi movie directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Rajan Batra, S.S Jaswal and Vivek Ohri. I was released on 7 October 2011 starring Arya Babbar, Yuvraj Hans, Harish Verma, Juvidha Ashta, Kajal Jain, Jenny Ghottra. The movie reveals about the story of three friends- Guri, Deep and Sher Singh. Both the three are studying and staying together in the hostel of the same university. In the movie both the three friends are fall in love with a three different girls. Guri who was fall in love with a most intelligent girl in the class. Deep fall in love with a girl who belongs to family od desi Jatts and Sher Singh was fall in love with a girl who was born and brought up in Canada. I had also watched that movie with my family. I really love that movie. The movie was full of comedy and one of the finest Indian Punjabi Movies of 2011.
1. Jihne Mera Dil Luteya (2011)
ਜੀਹਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਿਲ ਲੁੱਟਿਆ is a Punjabi movie directed by Mandeep Kumar and produced by Batra Showbiz Pvt. Ltd. It was released on 29 July 2011 starring Gippy Grewal, Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa, Binnu Dhillion. The story reveals about the dashing boy Yuvraj and the handsome rebel Gurnoor studied at Punjabi University, Patiala. Until they are bedazzled by the sexy and charming, lovely Noor, whose Dad is very wealthy. Both Gurnoor;s and Yuvarj Dads tell the boys to make her fall in love with them.
They try their own efforts to make her fall in love. The comedy open out. This movie is a must watch movie. I really enjoyed a lot while watching movie with my family. The soundtrack of the movie was awesome. The movie was a hit at the box office and grossed over 12.5 crores and one of the best Indian Punjabi Movies. It is a complete family entertainer movie.
