1. Gang of Wasseypur -Part 1 (2012)
Gang of wasseypur is one of the best bollywood movies on real criminal which i personally watch. It was released in 2012 and directed and produced by Anurag Kashyap,and starring Manoj Bajpai, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi, Tigmanshu Dhullia, Jaideep Ahlawat,Piyush Mishra, Reemma Sen, Richa Chadda. This movie centered on the Coal mafia of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, and the underlying power struggles, politics, and vengeance between three crime families. Its story spans from the early 1940s to mid-1990s. The entire film was shot at one go but due to extended time of 318 minutes of the complete print, it was eventually divided into two movies. The film received an A certification from the Indian censor board. The films soundtrack is heavily influenced by traditional Indian folk songs.
2. Gang of Wasseypur-Part 2 (2012)
Gangs of wasseypur-Part 2 is also one of the top Indian Bollywood movies based on Real Criminal produced and directed by Anurag Kashyap released in 2012. It is the second instalment of the Gang of wasseypur Saga centered on the Coal Mafia of Dhanbad, Jharkhand and the underlying power struggles, politics and vengeance between three crime families and starring Aditya Kumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Richa Chadda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Huma Qureshi, Tigmanshu Dhulia, RajKummar Rao Jamel Khan, zeishan Quadri. The story of this part spans over two decades, 1990s to 2009. Blood, violence, gore are unleashed in full throttle in this epic crime drama. GOW 2 is a fitting conclusion to this story of vengeance, which by now, not just the family but also this town has come to inhert. The film received an Adult Only certificationfrom the Indian Censor Board.
3. Shootout at Wadala (2013)
Shootout at Wadala is a Bollywood Crime Thriller movie written and directed by Sanjay Gupta. It is a prequel to the 2007 hit Shootout at Lokhandwala, and it is the second instalment of the shootout Film series. It is based on the book Dongri to Dubai. This film was released in 2013 and features John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Tusshar Kapoor, Manoj Bajpai and Sonu Sood in lead roles.The first-ever registered encounter by the Mumbai Police ,which took place on Nov1,1982. Based on a true story. This film released with positive reviews from critics and good box -office collections.
4. Once a Upon a Time in Mumbai (2010)
Once a Upon a Time in Mumbai is a Indian period gangster movie directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Ekta Kapoor. It was released in 2010 and starring Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Prachi Desasi. Kangana Ranaut and Randeep Hooda.A smuggler rises to power in 1970s Mumbai, a younger gangster seeks to overthrow him, and a police officer caught in the middle. The film is supposed to be based on the lives of Haji Mastaan and his protege Shoaib. The sequel, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara! released on 15 August 2013 ,Independence Day. This movie received mixed to positive reviews from critics and was declared a box- office Hit. This is also one of the movie which i oneself look at.
5. Company (2002)
Company is a Indian crime thriller movie based on Real Criminal and directed by Ram Gopal Varma and released in 2002 with screenplay Jaideep Sahni, and starring Mohanlal, Ajay Devagn, Manisha Koirala, Vivek Oberoi,Antara Mali. The film marked the debut of Vivek Oberoi in bollywood. The film is theorize to have been based on the D-Company split between Mumbai crime lords Dawood Ibrahim and Chotta Rajan. All in all it is a very good gangster flick.It is the second film in the Gangster series and a sequel to the blockbuster Satya.
6. Maqbool (2003)
Maqbool is a Indian drama Bollywood movies on Real Criminal directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and released in 2003. This film features Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Pankaj Kapoor, Om Puri , Naseeruddin Shah.It was a brilliant Adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth and with Mumbai underworld as its backdrop. Maqbool is the right hand man of Jahangir Khan,a powerful underworld Don. Pankaj Kapoor was awarded the National Film Award for best supporting Actor for his portrayal of a robust Don. The movie gains pace with two corrupt Police-men predicting that Maqbool would soon taker over the reins of Mumbai Underworld from Abba Ji.Maqbool receives positive reviews from critics.
7. Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007)
Shootout at Lokhandwala is a crime thriller movie on Real Criminal story of how Gangsters were shot down in a gun battle with the Mumbai Police in 1991 at the Lokhandwala complex in the city. The film boasts of some brilliant acting and crisp portrayal of the shootout. The film was released in 2007 starring Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Amitabh bachchan, Arbaaz Khan, Vivek Oberoi. The film movie with shots of blood and cartridge casings in and around Swati Building at the Lokhandwala Complex. Dreaded gangster Maya Dolas was hiding in the complex.
8. Vaastav (1999)
Vaastav: The Reality is one of the best Bollywood movies based on Real Criminal ever written in Indian Cinema. Vaastav was both written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and stars Sanjay Dutt as the protagonist. The film is believed to have drawn inspiration from the life of Mumbai underground gangster Chota Rajan. It is the cut film depicts the unforgiving realities of the Mumbai Underworld. It was released in 1999 starring Sanjay Dutt, Mohnish Behl, Namrata Shirodkar, Shivaji Satnam, Reema Lagoo, Paresh Rawal. Vaastav opens with a family performing the annual rites of a dead person on the beach. The movie was extremely successful both in India and overseas.
9. Gangster (2006)
Gangster is a Crime drama movie starring Emraan Hashmi, Kangna Ranaut, shiney Ahuja. It was released in 2006 directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Mahesh Bhatt. I personally lookat this movie oneself. The plot and chraracter of gangster are often related to an actual underworld Don Abu Salem and Bollywood actress Monika Bedi through the director has contradict this. The storyline is that of a bar girl who falls in love with two people, one a layman and the other a gangster. Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar was initially offered the role of Daya, but he turned it down saying “Cricket is not only my profession but my obsession as well. 10. D (2005)
D is an Indian Crime drama movie directed by Vishram Sawant.The movie was released in 2005 starring Randeep Hooda, Chunky Pandey, Rukhsar Rehman, Isha Koppikar Yashpal Sharma, Sushant Singh,Goga Kapoor. The film is a sequel to Varma’s 2002 film company. D is based on the real-life Mumbai Underworld organisation,the D-Company. The three Varma films Satya,Company and D are together considered an Indian Ganster Trilogy. Deshu, a mechanic from Dubai, comes home to Mumbai, and gets involve in a crime by accident. The film shows his meteoric rise from common, law-abiding man to underworld Kingpin.
